Sergio Lira

Dr. Sergio Lira has been the District III trustee since January 2018, and his seat will be up for election in 2019. Dr. Lira graduated from Stephen F. Austin High in HISD. He earned his bachelor of science, master’s degrees, and doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Houston.

Dr. Lira has worked as an educator and administrator in HISD. He has worked as an assistant principal at Chavez High School in District III, as well as, Bellaire High School. He also completed the University of Houston–Clear Lake’s Superintendent Certification Program.To learn more about Sergio Lira, visit the HISD Board website.
